LOGAN, UTAH: Reed M. Jensen, 58, passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2005 at his home in Logan of Pancreatic cancer.
Reed was born on July 22, 1947 in Logan a son of Retta Mathews and Lorenzo Jensen. He grew up in Providence and was in the first graduating class of Sky View High School, 1965. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 1966 Reed was drafted into the United States Army. After 21 weeks in advanced infantry training, he was stationed in Goch, Germany at the U.S. Air Force Base, formerly a German military base. He worked with radio and microwave technology, continuing the NATO activity.
Reed married Karen Johnson in 1975, they became proud parents of a son, Andrew Lloyd Jensen. They were later divorced. Reed worked at Thiokol/Flare Division, Moore Business Forms, Heston Manufacturing and found a home at Thoikol/Logan Manufacturing Corp. , spending 29 years, ending his career as the manager of the sheet metal fabricating shop, until their demise. He finished his career at Utah State University, the last 4 years as maintenance shop coordinator until labor day of this year, when his health forced him to retire.
Reed enjoyed working with wood, making many pieces of furniture including a beautiful curved, oak cabinet base for his 72 gallon aquarium.
Reed’s love of nature, hiking, photography and fishing has brought those lucky enough to keep up, much joy and pleasure.
Reed is survived by the light of his life, his son Andy and his granddaughter, Athena of Smithfield; three brothers and four sisters, Alan and Mary Jensen, Providence; Don Jensen, Hyrum; Leon and Laura Jensen, Providence; Georgia and Vern Mattson, West Jordan; Joy and Del Friedli, Providence; Hollie Peterson and Darcie and Randy Tew, both of Salt Lake City. Reed will be missed greatly by his many friends and family ...He’s Gone Fishing’.....
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 12:00 pm in the Allen-Hall Mortuary. Friends may call at the mortuary Tuesday from 6-8 pm and at the mortuary one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Providence City Cemetery. Condolences and memories may be sent to the family at
