Providence- Regina Lenora Kohler passed away on June 7, 2010 at her home in Providence.
Regina was the second child out of twelve born to Bertha Beutler and Alfred Kohler in college ward on February 9, 1915 and shortly after the family moved to Providence.
As a child Regina rode the street car to school. She attended Providence Elementary and South Cache High School. Because of the depression Regina had to start working at a young age.
Regina worked 35 years as a book keeper for Sears, in Phoenix, Salt Lake, and California. She also worked for Supreme Air and some car agencies. Regina worked 16 years for Gossners Cheese from which she retired. She often said she felt as though she worked her whole life. When her beloved mother passed away she moved back to the valley and bought the old homestead in Providence. There she spent time caring for her great niece Shonnie (Dustin) Farmer.
Regina held many positions in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She worked in the Primary, Sunday School and Relief Society. Being a devoted member of the Church brought her enjoyment and many good friends.
Regina has always loved helping people. She especially enjoyed her family, her brothers, and her sisters. Through the years she had the pleasure of many relatives coming to stay with her. Regina was very kind, loving, and giving always. We all have had our lives touched by Regina’s kindness and are truly blessed to have known her.
Regina is survived by her two sisters Nora (Joe) Hansen and Donnette (Joel) Meacham; and her two brothers Bud (Maxine) Kohler and Bob (Rhea) Kohler. Also surviving are many of her nieces and nephews.
Regina is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Grant (Lila), Dean (Shirly), Datus, Rex (Ivy), and Kay (Renee) Kohler; and her sisters Lavona (Vaughn) Hyde, and Elda (Ray) Nelson.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday June 14, 2010 at the Providence Cemetery. Regina’s family would like to express much appreciation and gratitude to Hospice and the many nurses that helped care for Regina, especially Mandi McBride, Julie Swensen, and Dian Crocket thank you for all your love and support.
