Jane Renee Alder Henrie passed away on August 22, 2024, at the age of 96. She was born in Preston, Idaho, to Alfred Johnson Alder and Jane Jenkins Alder on November 23, 1927, and spent her growing up years on the family farm, also in Preston. At the age of 19 she served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Texas. Upon returning home, she married Ivan J Henrie in the Logan Temple. They are the parents of five children. Renee's life revolved around her children, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She loved each one of them and rejoiced in their accomplishments.

Renee was employed by the USU Credit Union for 26 years. When she joined the Credit Union, she was one of three employees operating the Credit Union out of a small, red brick house located on the USU campus. When she retired, she had been a sustaining force that had helped build the Credit Union into a substantial financial institution. She was loved by all of the USU community who knew her.

Upon retirement from the Credit Union, she and Ivan served a mission in the Roanoke Virginia Mission. After that, she worked as an ordinance worker in the Logan Temple for many years. Her final church calling was teaching the gospel doctrine class at the age of 91.

Renee's life spanned a time of great technological advances and historical events. Six months before she was born, Charles Lindbergh flew across the Atlantic Ocean in a single engine plane. When she was born the family car was a Model T and Calvin Coolidge was the president. As a teenager, she witnessed her high school classmates go off to World War II, some never to return. She watched German prisoners of war work in the sugar beet fields in the Preston area. And she has seen everything since.

Renee is preceded in death by her husband Ivan, her daughter Shauna (Kenneth) Horner, her daughter Lisa who died as an infant, two sisters, a brother, a grandchild and a great grandchild.

She is survived by a sister, Colleen (Dick) Magleby, three sons Gary (Paula Goodey) Henrie, J Cordell (Debra Fifield) Henrie, and Ivan Lynn "Hank" (Koula Peperakis) Henrie, a son-in-law Kenneth (Caryl) Horner, 24 grandchildren and 86 great grandchildren.

Renee has had many wonderful, close friends over the years. The family thanks each one of them for this friendship. The family also extends its warmest thanks to the aides at PrimRose Homecare and Hospice who gave such loving and professional care to Renee in her final months.
