Logan, Utah
On January 6, 2012 Renee Wyatt Peterson peacefully passed away at home.
As always, Gib was at her side. She was born October 11, 1925 to Willard and Edna Mortensen Wyatt in Logan, Utah. She will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren and friends.
She was married to Gilbert Haws Peterson July 18, 1943 in San Diego, California and later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple.
Renee was well known for her kind heart, delicious cookies and cinnamon rolls, her beautiful handwork and always feeding whoever stopped by.
She was a faithful member of the LDS church. She served in many positions including Primary President. She was always involved in her children’s activities including the PTA.
She taught us by example to always look for the good. She showed her emotions frequently with eyes brimming full of tears. She taught us all to love music by her beautiful voice and always having the radio on in our home.
She loved people and had the ability to make each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren always look forward to a visit with her and grandpa. She always had a treat for them. Everyone thought that she loved them the best. She and Dad supported not only children, but grandchildren and great grandchildren in sports, school and church programs.
Mom and Dad have enjoyed 68 years together. It was a marriage that was an example to each of us. You always knew that they would be together where ever they went, whether it be snowmobiling, camping or boating.
Mom was a brave young lady when she went to San Diego with Dad in the Navy. They moved into the family home in Petersboro, Utah in 1949 where all of our growing up memories were established.
Mom is survived by her loving husband, Gilbert. Her children Bonnie Speth (Jack, deceased), Martin (Louise), Juliann Ohlwiler (Alan, deceased), Richard (Terrie), and Robert (Cindy). She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her infant son Gilbert, her parents, two sisters, one brother, one grandson and two son-in-laws.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 9th at 12 noon at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center, Logan, Utah. Viewings will be on Sunday, January 8th from 6:00-8:00 p.m., and also on Monday, January 9th from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Interment will be at the Logan City Cemetery.
