Rex Valgene Gleason was born February 16, 1948. He was the middle child of Rex and Cloteel. His early life was spent in Clarkston Utah where he enjoyed riding horses, hunting and fishing. He also spent a lot of time at the home of his grandparents Joe and Sylvia Goodey.
He graduated from Sky View High School. In 1968 he married his eternal companion, Kristine Fuhriman in the Logan Utah LDS Temple. They are the parents of three children. Heather Gleason of Smithfield, Utah. Stacey (Rob) Hickman of Saratoga Springs, Utah. Ryan (Brandi) Gleason of Fairview, Idaho.
He worked in the dairy industry all of his career. He was the plant manager at Cache Valley Dairy in Amalga, Utah where he made many lifelong friends. He was the Director of operations for several plants in Utah, Idaho and Wyoming. He helped develop a recipe for Swiss cheese that won several national awards. He continued to share his knowledge in retirement as a consultant for a progressive company.
He liked to hunt, fish, work in the yard, and spoil his three grandchildren Harlee, Lilly, and Rhett. He seldom missed any activity that his grandchildren participated in.
He was the area authority over the “coffee shop gang.” Uncle Rexie was a father figure to many and a friend to all. Dammit Dad, we will miss you so much!!
He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, older brother Jack Gleason, younger sister Debbie Udy and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary. There will be a viewing on Tuesday May 24th from 6 to 8 pm at Allen Mortuary of North Logan. Funeral Services are at noon on Wednesday May 25th with a viewing before from 10:30 to 11:30 am at the Smithfield 21st Ward building on 340 E 300 S in Smithfield. Internment at the Smithfield Cemetery.
