Rex DeConn Goodwin, 87, passed away on Monday September 27, 2010 at the Sunshine Terrace.
He was born on July 12, 1923 at his Grandma Petersons home in Logan, Utah. He was the third of nine children born to Dewey Goodwin and Hulda Amelia Peterson. He married Faye Winn on December 23, 1948 in Logan, Utah. They were married for 62 years.
He was in the Armed Forces in Germany during World War II and fought valiantly in the infantry. He was a farmer and carpenter by trade. He loved his family with all his heart.
He is survived by his wife Faye Winn Goodwin and four children. Janis (Mark) Martindale, Blake (Laurel) Goodwin, Mike (Emeline) Goodwin, and Shauna (Mike) Jones, and grandchildren Travis, Mykin, Brita, Adrienne, Teresa, Bret, and Eric, and 13 great grandchildren, and sisters Lila Kohler and Donna Burba.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Christine, four brothers Bud, Bill, Joe, and Lawrence, a grandson Troy, a great grandson Shawn.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2010, at noon in the Lewiston First Ward Chapel (10 S. 1600 West). Friends may call at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center St. in Logan, on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 and at the ward on Thursday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Lewiston City Cemetery.
