Rex Winfield Olsen

Young Ward- Rex Winfield Olsen, 80, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at his home in Young Ward from medical complications.
He was born March 15, 1929 in Logan, Utah, a son of Bert W. Olsen and Dora Fuhriman Olsen. Rex married Gladys Jacobson on September 1, 1951 in the Logan LDS Temple. They were later divorced.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Vicky Lynn Olsen, his parents, and one brother, Harlow (Butch) Olsen.
Rex was a farmer and worked as a trucker for Bullen’s Inc. until he retired. He was also an Elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Surviving are one daughter, Karren Olsen, Duchesne, Utah, sons Mitchell (Noreesa) Olsen, Lehi, Utah, Larry (Linda) Olsen, Ogden, Utah, and Bart Olsen, Young Ward, Utah, sisters Dorothy Lloyd (Norm), JoAn Young (Keith), EloDean Herzog, and Linda Montano, and brother Ervin Olsen (Donna), as well as five grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Alpine Home Health, Dr. Williams, and Dr. Stones for their care and assistance. The family extends their gratitude to all family and friends for their continuing support.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 25 at 11:00 a.m. at the Young Ward Chapel, 2394 West 2200 South. Friends may call on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street, Logan and on Thursday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Young Ward Church House. Interment will be held at the Logan City Cemetery. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.allenmortuaries.net
