Richard Frank Juber

Richard Frank Juber passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018, surrounded by his family, at his home in St George, UT.
Richard was born March 5, 1934 in Eureka UT, to Paul and Maude Juber. He and his family moved to Orem, UT. He graduated from Lincoln High School where he was an outstanding athlete, especially at football. He married his high school sweetheart in August 1952 in the Salt Lake temple. Together they had six children, Richard LeRoy Juber (Susan Bowthorpe), Patricia Ann Hess (Keven), Michael Dean Juber, Peggy Sue Shaw (Richard), Kimberly Dee Weeks (Darin) and Darilyn Gay Clawson (Roger). They had 20 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.
Prior to moving to St George UT 14 years ago, Richard and his family lived in Hyrum, UT for 40 years. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and held many positions throughout his life. He worked for 30 years at Thiokol Corporation as an associate scientist and retired in 1990. He also worked as a guide at the Bear River Duck Club for 36 years. He was an expert duck hunter, archer, fly fisherman, and avid sportsman. He was an excellent artist and photographer.
In his later years he spent a great deal of time in his garden. When he moved to St George he was well known for his roses.
For the past 10 years he suffered from chronic deterioration of his backbone which greatly restricted his activity and eventually was the cause of his passing. He was preceded in death by his wife LaDean (Nielsen) Juber and his two brothers Robert (Bob) Juber and Paul Juber.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 29, 2018 in the Hyrum City Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Saturday prior to the services from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North in Logan.
