Richard Waddell Tingey

Our very dear and sweet Richard passed away peacefully in his sleep at home in North Logan on Sunday, November 23 3006. He was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Jennifer Waddell and Vance Barnes Tingey. His arrival in this world was accompanied by his identical twin and best friend, Robert.
His family returned to Utah in 1966, and they lived in Ogden and Logan before moving to Seattle, Washington. They moved to North Logan in 1969. Richard also lived in American Fork and Spanish Fork, Utah.
Richard attended schools in Seattle, American Fork, and Cache County, graduating from Sky View High in 1981. He also attended Bridgerland Applied Technologies College.
Richard was a skilled heavy equipment operator and was employed at Western Metal in Plymouth, Utah. He was a former fire fighter for the North Logan City Fire Department.
Richard was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He married the love of his life, Wendie Haskell of Payson, Utah in the Manti Temple. They are the parents of one son, Richard Nicholas (Nic) Tingey. His love for Wendie was deep, unshakable and is eternal. He also adored his young son, Nic, and they were best buddies. They loved to fish an spend time together outdoors, play video games, wrestle, and tease each other. Nic was his pride and joy and his family was his life.
Richard was an enthusiastic fisherman. He also enjoyed hunting, reading and watching sports. He was a life-long Green Bay Packers fan.
Richard was a big man with a deep voice, but he had a big, gentle and tender heart that drew people to him. He is deeply loved and will be sorely missed.
Richard is survived in death by his loving wife and son, Wendi and Nicholas. He is also survived by his loving mother, Jennifer W. Tingey, now of Boise, Idaho. He is survived as well by his sister and brothers; Gayle Tingey-Dewey (Jim), of Boise, Idaho, twin Robert W. Tingey (Mary), of North Logan, Utah; and Brian W. Tingey, of Boise, Idaho. Also survived is his step-mother, Cathy Horman Tingey of Belle Fourche, South Dakota, and sister and brothers, Julie Morgan (Brian) of Mesa, Arizona. Rochelle Tingey of Salt Lake City, Craig Tingey (Becky) of North Ogden, Utah , Scott Tingey (Kimberly) of Salt Lake City, and Caren (Shane) of Mesa, Arizona and several other nephews and nieces, Jordan and Jennifer Dewey, Sari, Isaac, and Benjamin Morgana, Isabel, Ethan, and Tyler Tingey, Garrett Tingey, and Vance Winters. He is also survived by a very special nephew Jason Tingey of Boise, Idaho, and long-time and closet friend Dwight E. Beyeler of Logan, Utah.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Vance B. Tingey; ;infant brother, Bruce Waddell Tingey; and grandparents James C. And Margaret Waddell and Vance H. and Inez Tingey and four Uncles.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, November 17, 2006 in the North Logan 2nd Ward Chapel, 1105 East 2100 North, North Logan. Friends may call at the Allen-Cranney Mortuary, 420 East 1800 North on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. and at the Church on Friday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net
