Rick Ellis Mickelson, 36, died Thursday December 27, 2012 at his home in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
He was born June 12, 1976 in Ogden, to Ellis Lamar and Sandra Lou Jessop Mickelson. He was primarily raised by his step-father Thomas Dorn Schooley.
Early Life and Education: Rick went to numerous schools in Cache Valley and graduated from Cache High School in 1994.
Rick and Ann met in high school and were married June 20, 1992 in Hyrum, Utah. They began their life together in Hyrum, UT where they had two children; Alexis in 1992 and Britany in 1994. He worked many different jobs in Logan, UT while going to school, and after graduating with a computer science degree, he found employment in Idaho Falls, ID as a software engineer at the Idaho National Laboratory. He grew up LDS and most recently attended Journey Church in Shelley, ID. Rick loved all of his friends and enjoyed four wheeling at the sand dunes, playing Xbox, and working on cars, especially classic cars with his favorite being his 1971 Chevelle. Rick was a hard worker and from the age of 16 has always made sure that he provided for his family. He was the best husband, father, son and friend anyone could ask for. Rick was loyal and selfless, helping anyone at a moments notice. He will greatly be missed by his wife, mother, daughters, brothers, sisters, and friends.
Rick is survived by his wife Ann Marie Mickelson, daughter Alexis Marie Mickelson, and daughter Britany Ann Mickelson all of Idaho Falls, ID. Rick is also survived by his mother Sandra Lou Jessop of Logan, UT, father Ellis Lamar Mickelson of Ogden, UT, sister Marjorie Krambule (Ron)of Ogden, UT, sister Cindy Lou Henson of Logan, UT, brother Thomas Schooley II (Virginia) of Chubbuck, ID, and sister Amber Marie Wiedmeier (Peter) of Colorado Spring, CO.
Rick is preceded in death by his brother Ronnie Lamar Mickelson and his step-father Thomas Dorn Schooley.
Funeral services will be held on Monday December 31, 2012 at 11:00am in the Allen-Hall Mortuary Chapel, 34 East Center, Logan. Friends may call at the mortuary on monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30am.
