Robert Allen

April 20, 1928 — August 9, 2012

Robert Gaylen Allen was born on April 20, 1928 to Austin David and
Vesta Rose Allen. He passed away on August 9, 2012 after a prolonged
struggle with Alzheimers. His siblings were A. Douglas, Drue, Reid,
Claron, Gloy, Gwynne, and Merle Jean.

Robert graduated from South Cache High School in Hyrum. He was Senior
Class President and played on the football team. He went on an LDS
mission to Northern California where he met Norine Butler. After their
missions, they dated and were married in the Logan LDS temple on May
25, 1951. He graduated from Utah State University.

Robert and Norine had 9 children. Gae Lyn (Harold) Henderson, LeeAnn
(Samuel) Lindsey, Robert Dean (Laura Lue) Allen, Janene (Kenyon) Hart,
June (deceased), Marjorie (Darin) Emch, Mary Jo (Richard) Elmer, Teri
Sue (Michael) Abramson, and Richard Wray Allen. Robert and Norine have
38 grandchildren, and 29 great grandchildren and counting.

Before his mission, Robert, his brothers, and father purchased land in
Hansel Valley. They broke the land of sagebrush for dry farming.
Throughout his life, Robert farmed in Hansel Valley, Strevell and Blue
Creek. Robert had a successful tax preparation business. He worked
from his home and his family was always involved. Robert farmed in
Blue Creek and Norine is still farming in Logan. They worked together
and taught their children the value of work.

Robert and Norine started their family in Hyrum Utah. They also lived
in Tremonton and for the past 50 years have lived in Logan. Robert was
a gifted teacher and loved to share the gospel. He served as Bishop in
the Logan 7th Ward, on the High Council in the Mt. Logan Stake, and
many other callings throughout his life. Robert touched the lives of
all he knew, and spoke at many funerals over the years. Also, Robert
had a great sense of humor and the good timing to share it.

In his personal history, Robert said, “If there is some sort of legacy
that I can leave for you, my children and grandchildren – not that I
am perfect or have not made mistakes, because indeed I have – I want
you to know, that I do indeed love you. My love for you is without end
and without bounds.”

We will miss you Dad.
