LOGAN, UTAH: Robert Keith Hawker, 60, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones at his home in Wellsville on August 17,2012 after a courageous 20 month battle with cancer.
Robert was born in Lehi, Utah to wonderful parents Beverly Johnson Hawker and Leon Hawker. He grew up fixing cars and chasing with friends all over the Salt Lake valley, until the day he met his beautiful wife Joyce Player. They were married June 24,1972. To this union, they were tortured with three rambunctious but talented and gifted boys-Troy, James, and Tracy. After 15 years of hunting, camping, and fishing with his boys, he and Joyce were blessed with their beautiful daughter Rachel in 1991.
Robert worked very hard to raise his family respectively and earn an honest living. He was a very respected member of the Associated Foods long haul drivers team for 38 years. He instilled in his family a great work ethic, and a high level of integrity. He loved to drive the truck, but hated to be away from his family. He found great pride and joy in the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren and enjoyed spending any extra time available with them.
He is survived by his amazing wife of 40 years, Joyce Hawker of Wellsville, his boys, Troy (Brenda “T”) , James (Brenda “J”) , both of Wellsville, Tracy (Coy) of Rock Springs, Wyoming, his daughter Rachel of Wellsville and his grandchildren- Kimberley, Clayton, Jayden, Colton, Isaac, Mayson, and Harley Hawker. Also surviving are close friends, the Daren and Cristy Jeppersen family.
Robert was greeted in his next assignment by his parents, 3 nieces, and 3 brother in laws, plus many other family.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ben-Jacob and staff, and the LRH Hospice staff for caring for dad. He was a true fighter.
