Robert Lee Jensen (93) passed away on October 13, 2024. He was born on February 15,1931 to Bernard “Vern” Jensen and Rosalina “Rose” Von Niederhauser. He was the second of three sons: DeLyle, Robert and Richard.

At an early age, Bob learned the value of hard work. He was born during the Great Depression. During the school year, he herded and milked his grandma’s cows, and in the summers, he worked at his uncle’s sawmill in Logan Canyon. Those experiences forged a work ethic that served him throughout his life.

Bob was called to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. After two weeks in the Mission Home, he was drafted into the Korean War and left with dozens of other missionaries to report to Selective Service. He served in the Army and was saved three separate times from going to Korea.

When Bob returned home from the war in 1953, his mother introduced him to a “sweet little gal” named Charyl Lee Bowen. They began dating and fell in love.

Bob and Charyl were married on June 2, 1954, in the Logan LDS Temple. As newlyweds, Bob and Charyl built a home in Providence. They later moved to Salt Lake City before returning to Logan where they made their home for 65 years. They raised their family in a historic home in the Logan First Ward. They were blessed with three sons: Steven, Val, and Lee and one daughter, DeeAnn. They were also blessed with 13 grandchildren (Jeremiah, Amber, Rebecca, Heather, Joshua, Kellie Ann, Amanda, Marissa, Chelsea, Brianna, Forrest, Daniel and Jacob) as well as 28 great grandchildren.

Bob was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He held many church callings and was always willing to serve. He had a strong testimony of his Heavenly Father and the atonement of Jesus Christ. He taught this faith to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Bob was a firefighter and ambulance driver for Logan City Fire Department for over 30 years. In his off time, he was a property manager and painter. He kept himself busy and could fix anything. He took great care of Charyl for many years after her health failed her. They lived in their home until 2 years ago when they moved into an assisted living facility together. Charyl passed away in July this year just after celebrating their 70th Wedding Anniversary.

Bob loved the outdoors and spent many summers camping, fishing, and hunting with his family and making many memories in the cabin they built in Alpine, Wyoming. He had a quick sense of humor and was a wonderful storyteller. He and Charyl also enjoyed traveling and gardening and kept an immaculate yard.

Bob is survived by his sons Val of Alpine, WY and Lee (Debbie) of Albany, OR and daughter, Dee Ann (Alan) Smith of Littlefield, AZ, daughter-in-law Sheila Jensen of Clinton, MO as well as 12 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Charyl, his parents, his brothers, Lyle and Richie, his son Steven, his daughter-in-law, DeeDee, his grandson Forrest and 2 great granddaughters, Olivia and Angel.

We would like to thank everyone at Birch Creek Assisted Living and Enhabit Home Health for their amazing care. A special thank you to granddaughter, Marissa Garr for all of the love, work, care and devotion to Grandma and Grandpa. She has been such a blessing to them.
