Robert Stephen Stonehouse

December 7, 1922 — February 3, 2018

Robert Stonehouse passed away peacefully Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Blacksmith Fork Assisted Living in Hyrum, Utah.
He was born to Robert and Francis Stonehouse on December 7, 1922 near Russell, Iowa. Following World War II he married his sweetheart, Patricia, and they relocated to San Diego County, where they lived for the next forty years. They moved to Providence, Utah in 1990, and lived there until October of 2017. They were married seventy-two years last September.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, and an older sister, Helen. Survivors include two sisters, Ruth and Lucille, also two brothers, Jack and Tom. He is survived by his wife Patricia, son, Jerry and his wife, Marejean, daughter, Karen and her husband, Randy, and son Kim and his wife, Lorie. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
Robert is a World War II veteran. He served aboard the destroyer “Herndon” for the entire war, and in addition to escorting convoys across the Atlantic and into the Mediterranean, he was in on the invasions of Sicily, Normandy and Southern France.
He enjoyed bird and big game hunting, but his passion was shooting, shooting and more shooting. He was a real rifleman.
Funeral services are under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary, and will be held at Grace Baptist Church, 475 West 600 North in Logan, on Saturday, February 10, 2018. There will be a viewing from 10:30 to 11:30 am with services beginning at 12:00 noon.
The family would like to thank God for Dad’s many years with us. We are certainly blessed. We would also like to thank Blacksmith Fork Assisted Living for the excellent care given to dad those last three months.
