Robert Evans Wilson passed away on August 12, 2024, in Logan Utah, following a decades-long battle with brain cancer.

Robert was born the 19th of May 1942 in Logan, Utah. He was the third child of Floyd Fredrick Wilson and Afton Lucille Evans Wilson.

From a young age, Robert studied the piano and became a gifted musician.

He graduated from Logan High School. He then fulfilled a calling as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in the North Germany and Western States Missions from 1962 to 1964.

Upon his return he graduated from Utah State University where he studied education. Robert was a life-long educator teaching elementary school in Blanding, Brigham City, and Salt Lake City Utah.

Robert lived most of his life in the Salt Lake City Avenues neighborhood. He loved to play the piano, enjoyed classic movies, and swam almost every day. After retiring from teaching, he enjoyed working part time at the Alta Club.

Robert was a skilled genealogist and leaves a legacy of family history treasured by his family. 

He is preceded in death by his brother Clair (and spouse Leora) and brother-in-law Jack B. Parson, Jr. He is survived by a sister, Deanne Parson of Pleasant View, a brother, Steve (Debbie) Wilson of Millville, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Steve and Debbie Wilson and the staff and caregivers at Terrace Grove Assisted Living in Logan for their loving and attentive care during Robert’s final months of life.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 2:30 PM at the Logan Cemetery.
