OREM, UTAH Robert “Beau” Bowen, 24 was taken from his family suddenly, Saturday, April 21, 2007 in a tragic four-wheeling accident in Wales Canyon, Sanpete County. He has gone to join his Father in Heaven and his grandfather, Burns Crookston, who passed away unexpectedly January 19 of this year. Beau was the oldest son of Cory and Bobbie Crookston Bowen.
Beau was born in Logan on April 5, 1983. The family moved to Kaysville where Beau attended Columbia Elementary school. Then in 1996 they moved to Boise, Idaho, where they lived for ten years. Beau attended Lowell Scott Middle School and graduated from high school at Centennial High and LDS Seminary in 2001. While there he was on the golf team and developed a love for the game. After high school Beau attended two semesters at BYU, but his love for the family tire business drew him away from school to pursue his career at Jack’s Tire and Oil Inc. In hopes of encouraging him to go back to school, his dad gave him one of the hardest jobs. This only challenged him to work harder to succeed in the tire business. He truly loved his job.
Beau was an active member in the LDS church with a strong testimony of the gospel. His love of scouting took him across the country to the National Boy Scout Jamboree in Virginia. He was able to travel to many historical sites during his time there. Beau earned his Eagle Scout Award in 2001.
Beau was an avid outdoorsman who loved golfing, snowboarding, camping, four-wheeling, fishing, and hunting. As much as the activity itself, he loved the time spent with family and friends.
Beau had a loving relationship with his younger brother and sisters. They all looked so forward to his visits and the fun they would have. Meg loved most of all her time with Beau when he was the babysitter and they were on their own. Beau made a point to call his grandparents and family weekly just to say hi and tell them how much he loved them.
Beau is survived by his parents, two sisters and one brother, Cortney Quinn, Meg Deon, and Dexter Lynn Bowen all of Providence, Utah, also a sister, Brittney Bowen of Logan, Utah; his grandparents, J. David and LaRae Bowen and Janis Crookston; great-grandmothers Marjorie Bowen, Jean (Honey) Read, and step-great grandmother Geraldine (Ducky) Crookston. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins that will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his Grandfather Robert Burns Crookston and his great-grandparents, Jonathan (Jack) Bowen, Edith McCulloch, Doyle Read, and Robert (Bob) and Deon Q. Crookston.
