Rodney Brent Nyman, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully at home in Logan, Utah on December 7, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 23, 1941 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Rodney Stephen Nyman and Ardella Salome Moser, the second of five children. He grew up in Logan, Utah.
He married his high school sweetheart Ellen Dahle on June 23, 1961 in the Logan Temple. They enjoyed 61 beautiful years together raising their three children. They also extended their love to a sweet nephew and grandchildren who have a special place in their home. His grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews adore him. Wherever there was a crowd, you could be sure Brent was in the middle of it.
Brent enjoyed competing in sports throughout high school and college where he played basketball and baseball. He graduated from Utah State University and went on to graduate from Pacific Coast Banking School in Washington. He spent 35 years in the banking industry, most of that with Zions Bank, and enjoyed his close relationships that were made throughout his career. He loved serving his community. He served on various committees in the community from the Kiwanis Club, Utah State University Board of Trustees, Utah Festival Opera & Theatre and The Bridgerland Applied Technology Center.
Brent was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and loved serving the Lord. He enjoyed serving in many capacities in the church including being a youth leader, serving in bishoprics and as Bishop of a USU ward. He had a gift of uplifting, serving and touching others lives for good. He had a unique ability to make those he spent time with feel like the most important people in the world.
He was an outdoor enthusiast. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, boating, golfing, four-wheeling, multiple trips to Alaska and treasured family vacations.
Brent loved life, loved his family, and lived life to the fullest each day. He was Mr. Optimistic, always making the best of every situation. Brent is survived by his loving wife Ellen Dahle Nyman, three children Nancy (John) Fahnestock, Jennifer (Mike) Hall, Jeffrey Brent Nyman, 19 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and siblings Ted (Jan) Nyman, Anita (Kim) Watts and Sue (Ken) Borchert. He was preceded in death by his sister Jeniel (Phil) Harris, and his parents.

The viewing will be held Friday, December 16, 2022 from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Allen Mortuary of North Logan located at 420 E. 1800 N. Street North Logan, UT.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 17, 2022 at noon, preceded by a viewing from 10 am to 11:30 am at the Logan 10th Ward Chapel located at 792 N. 500 E. Logan.
