Roger Scott Green

July 9, 1917 — January 29, 2006

WELLSVILLE, UTAH: Roger Scott Green our beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather and great, great grandfather passed away peacefully at his home, Sunday evening, January 29,2006.
He was born July 9, 1917, in Wellsville, Utah to Joseph Walker and Mable Ester Williams Green. He married Syble Hall Wyatt April 1, 1937 in the Logan LDS Temple. They made their life long home at Green's Comer in Wellsville. Syble passed away November 14, 1984 and Roger remained a widower for 21 years until his death.
Roger was an active farmer and dairyman for approximately seventy years. He loved the land and cherished the opportunity to preserve the 140 year old family farm as long as possible. While growing up during the depression, he developed a stalwart independence and self-reliance that encompassed his actions and personality until recently when he could no longer physically care for himself His will power and self-preservation were remarkable and noteworthy.
He will be remembered by his grandchildren for his refreshing sense of humor, story telling about the good old days on the farm, cleverly disguised ways of giving advice, independence, self-reliance, and hard work.
He deeply appreciated and loved his brothers and sisters. They were a life line for him as they visited, shared memories and socialized together during various activities.
Roger was a life long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Wellsville First Ward.
Preceding Roger in death were his parents, 6 of his 7 brothers and sisters, wife Syble and son Boyd Green. He is survived by his sister Ethel Elizabeth Green, Ogden; son Gerald (Deon) Green, Providence; son Loyal (Candace) Green, Wellsville; and daughter, Doris (Leroy) Mayer, Wellsville, eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great-great granddaughters.
