Roma Jeane Stock passed away peacefully at her home in Logan and rejoined her beloved companion on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2007. Roma Jeane was born to Albert Roy Turner and Clara Hyde on March 27, 1923 in Morgan, Utah. She married Max Hanson Stock on Nov 27, 1946 in the Salt Lake City Temple.
Roma Jeane had a great appreciation for beautiful things in life including the splendors of nature, inspiring music and classic literature. She graduated from Morgan High School and then Brigham Young University with a degree in English and a minor in music. Roma Jeane taught band in Star Valley, Wyoming before her marriage.
She participated actively in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life and loved her ward members, neighbors, friends and family. One of her greatest satisfactions in life was serving and caring for others. She took pride in a beautiful yard and enjoyed cultivating flowers and plants. She was delighted in the beauty of forested mountains and loved being outdoors. Books filled her home and she was an avid reader. For many years Roma Jeane taught English in the Logan City Schools and she took an exceptional interest in seeing her students learn well. Roma Jeane cherished her family and found joy in following the lives of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Max on February 10, 1962 and by a son David Max. She is survived by her children Tamara Stock (Robin Moody) of Washington D.C., Laraine (Douglas) Swenson of Logan, Eileen (Reed) Quinn of Portland, ME., and Kevin (Diane) Stock of Burley, ID. She is also survived by two brothers, Paul Turner and Joseph Turner. Two sisters, Alberta Jensen and Marion Schroeder, preceded her in death
Funeral Services will be Saturday, February 17 at 10:00 a.m. in the Lundstrom Park 3rd Ward, 1260 N. 1600 E., Logan, Utah. Viewings will be held at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center in Logan, on Friday evening, February 16 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Saturday. Interment will be at the Afton Cemetery, Afton, Wyoming.
