Ronald Keith Dahl (AKA "Big Ron"), a very well-known resident of Cache Valley who knew Toyota's, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 22, 2025 after a 12+ year valiant fight with Metastatic Prostate Cancer.
Dad was born on May 26, 1948, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Irving F. Dahl and Ruth Johnson Dahl. He graduated from Highland High School in 1966. He served an LDS mission in Scotland in 1967-1969. He started his Toyota journey at Wagstaff Toyota while he was a sophomore in High School and then again when he was 25 years old. He attended BYU and the University of Utah. He married JoAnn Morley, his sweetheart in 1977 where they moved to Logan Utah, and he started working for Dahle's Toyota. They raised three beautiful daughters in a home they built together in Smithfield, Utah. Dad then continued working for Watson Toyota and then Ensign Toyota where he retired in 2013. He may have been a car guy, but he was the best girl dad ever. He taught us the value of hard work and how important family is. He was always present cheering us on. He was one of a kind and everyone around him enjoyed his presence and his sense of humor. Dad enjoyed golfing and keeping an immaculate yard and garden. He also enjoyed cooking and grilling along with skiing and writing short stories and poems (which we will treasure forever.) He enjoyed being outdoors and small family vacations up to "Jellystone." Dad was such a great bedtime storyteller whether it was in the house or camping out in the backyard around the firepit. He said he is always so proud of his girls and grandkids and some of his greatest joys came from their accomplishments and successes. Dad was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served many callings, but favorite was teaching the young men and young women in Sunday School.
He is survived by his wife JoAnn and his three children, Mindi (Justin) of Hyrum, Utah; Jenny (Porter) of Cub River, Idaho; Cindy (Garrett) of Spokane, Washington, and nine grandchildren he is survived by his Sister Carolyn and Brother Brian. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Laurie and grandparents.
We miss you so much dad and you will live in our hearts until we meet again. Dad's wishes were to be cremated which are being done by Allen-Hall Mortuary. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 8 at 12:00 pm at the Logan River Golf Course. Our family would like to thank CNS Hospice especially his nurse Robert, CNA Mike, also Sammie and Dan for their loving care.
