Ronald Villis Purser

HYDE PARK, UTAH: Ronald Villis Purser passed away at the Logan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Logan on Monday, April 18, 2011 of natural causes.

Ronald was born on November 23, 1924 as the first of four children of William Villis and Christina Avon Purser of Hyde Park.

He was raised in Hyde Park and was educated in the Cache County School System. He was a graduate of North Cache High School.

Following his graduation from high school, Ronald entered the military where he served as a part of the Greatest Generation in the Second World War. He was a member of the United States Air Force and served as a navigator on a B-52 Bomber in the European theatre.

Following his military service, Ronald attended and graduated from Utah State Agricultural College.

His occupation was Office Manager for Metro Oil Company in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was an avid and competitive tennis player and loved to play golf as well. He was an Elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Ronald was predeceased by his parents and is survived by his two brothers, Ramon (Marge) Purser of Hyde Park and Gary (Lois) Purser of Smithfield, and by his sister LaConna (Brent) Hoggan of North Logan.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 22, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. in the Allen Mortuary at 420 East 1800 North in North Logan, Utah. A viewing will be held from 11:30 to 12:30 prior to the funeral service. Interment will be in the Hyde Park City Cemetery with military honors.
