Rose B Andersen

October 18, 1925 — October 3, 2015

Rose Bradshaw Andersen passed away peacefully on Saturday October 3, 2015 surrounded by the love of her family. She was born October 18, 1925 the youngest child of eight born to Robert Leatham and Ellen (Nellie) Baugh Bradshaw.
Rose grew up in Wellsville, Utah where she had many fond childhood memories. She graduated from South Cache High School and met the love of her life Melvin Keith Andersen. They were married December 30,1942. They solemnized their marriage in the Logan LDS Temple.
They had just celebrated 65 years of marriage when Melvin passed away in 2009.
Rose and Melvin made their home in Hyrum, Utah where they raised nine children, 7 boys and 2 girls. Mom learned many skills that blessed her life and her family. She worked hard and sacrificed much for us.
She was an excellent cook and loved to bake. Christmas Eve just won’t be the same without her special homemade treats that were such a tradition for our family.
Mom was a beautiful quilter and loved to sew. Her children and grandchildren are the recipients of her many treasures stitched with love.
She loved music and had a beautiful voice. She taught her children to sing and perform. She played the piano and the organ. It was a joy to be in her home and sit down and listen as she played. She enjoyed reading and her mind remained sharp to the end. Mom and Dad always had a large beautiful garden that helped provide for their family. We worked with them to can and preserve the harvest. Moms home was always clean, tidy, and welcoming to all who came. She enjoyed serving in many capacities in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was a faithful visiting teacher. Her testimony is a strength to us.
Mom loved her family, and her treasures are her nine children and their spouses. Melvin Delos, (deceased), (Elaine) Andersen, Willard, UT; Robert K. Andersen, Brigham City, UT; Richard Von, (deceased); Mark B. (Sherrie) Andersen, Nibley, UT; Blaine K. (JoAnn) Andersen, Hyrum, UT; D. Gary (Dianne) Andersen, Hyde Park, UT; Paul K. (Debbie) Andersen, Fairview, ID; Merilee (Dave) Olson, Smithfield, UT; and Julie (Craig) Olsen, Paradise, UT. Her posterity also includes, 31 grandchildren, 71 great grandchildren, and 7 great, great grandchildren.
She is survived by a brother, Wayne (Betty) Bradshaw, Ogden, UT. and brother and sister in-law Douglas L. and Janet Andersen, Park City, UT.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons and grandsons Kevin Richard, Brian Kent and great grandson Quinten Jay Andersen.
The family would like to express great appreciation to AFI Advanced Care. Our special thanks to Rebecca, Cathy and Roseanna, for their love and care for our mother which allowed us to have her at home in her final days. It was a blessing beyond measure for our family.
Mom, we will miss your spunkiness and your love. We will miss the strength you are to our family, and will be eternally grateful for the foundation you have set for us.
