After a long life of service Roxie Palmer Marshall returned to Heavenly Father and her eternal companion on January 18, 2009 in Grantsville, Utah. Roxie was born March 23, 1922 in Pipe Springs, Arizona to Jesse Milo Palmer Jr. and Ella Heaton, and married Jack D. Marshall in Moccasin, Arizona July 17, 1944, later sealed in the Logan, Utah Temple.
Roxie dedicated her life to serving others, including 15 years as a leader in the 4-H program, 26 years as a primary teacher and Boy Scout leader, where she was one of the first two women to ever be awarded the Silver Beaver Award for distinguished service to the youth and her community. She also served two missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Professionally, she served as a registered nurse for 38 years until her retirement in 1982. In her later years she continued her service as she spent countless hours doing family history extraction.
Roxie had a caring and sympathetic personality that blessed countless lives and enriched all of those fortunate enough to have known her. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, Vance Palmer, Milo Palmer, Jonathan Palmer, and her sister Amanda Palmer. Survived by her brothers: Orval, Arlo Kirk, and Don; children: Eugene (Beth) Marshall and Gail (Wayne) Snow; nine grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on Friday, January 23, 2009 at 11:00AM. at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center, Logan, Utah 23, 2009. Friends may call at the mortuary on Friday morning from 9:30-10:30AM prior to the services. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
