Roy Scott

Vaughn LeRoy Scott Jr. age 80, from Logan, Utah passed away on April 29th, 2013 at Logan Nursing Rehabilitation Center due to complications from congestive heart failure and diabetes.
Roy, as he was known to his friends and family, was born on September 25, 1932 at home in Millville, Utah to his parents Vaughn LeRoy Scott Sr. and Donna Hopkins Scott. He was the eldest of three boys, Richard and Roger his twin brothers. He attended South Cache High School and after graduating served a mission for the LDS Church in New Zealand where he came to have a great love for the Maori people. He went by boat and returned by plane in 1956. While attending Utah State University (where he received a degree in Education) he met his wife Emilie Parrish Scott, from White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. Emilie says they fell in love at first sight; they were married in the Logan Temple on May 20, 1957.
Roy worked for the LDS Church as a custodian along with his wife Emilie until they retired. Roy loved fishing, hunting and the outdoors; he and Emilie loved to go camping with their friends and take trips in their trailer. Roy loved watching sports and following USU athletics. He loved a good story and could strike up a conversation with anyone.
Roy is survived by his wife Emilie and their three children : Craig and his wife Cathy Scott, Kyle and his wife Cindy Scott and Stacey and her husband Mark Griffith. They have 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, May 3, 2013 in the Crockett Ward Chapel, 325 Lauralin Drive in Logan. A viewing will be held prior to services from 10:00 to 11:30 AM. Interment will be in the Millville Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net
