PROVIDENCE, UTAH: Roy Fisher Croshaw, 87, of Providence, passed away Monday, February 9, 2009 in Logan due to complications following surgery.
He was born July 18, 1921, in Oxford, Idaho, to John James and May Belle Fisher Croshaw. He was the youngest of 12 children.
He married Donna Mae Campbell on March 21, 1947, in the Logan LDS Temple. They are the parents of 9 children. Bette Jo, Sandy; Roylan (Dorothy), Logan; Boyd (Wendy), Smithfield; Kevin (Cynthia), Hyde Park; Kathleen (Verlo) Howell, Wellsville; Denise (Karl) Hillyard, Farmington; Lisa Ann (Gary) Leavitt, North Salt Lake; Elaine (Scott) Olson, Providence; Janalee (Alan) Jones} Layton. He has 30 grandchildren, including three serving LDS missions and one serving in the Navy, as well as 21 greatgrandchildren.
Roy was a farmer, rancher, dairyman, and carpenter. He was employed by Utah State University for 28 years. He retired in 1983. After leaving USU he worked for Providence City as the building inspector. He was also a custodian and maintenance worker for the LDS church for many years. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in numerous church callings including two bishoprics, the high council, high priest group leadership, and home teacher. At the time of his passing he was serving as an officiator in the Logan Temple baptistry.
His interests were mainly his wife, children, grandchildren and extended family. He also had a great love of animals, especially horses. He enjoyed woodworking and helping people.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters, his son Kevin and a grandson Roylan Jr.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 12, 2009 at 12 noon in the Providence 4th Ward Chapel, 155 North 100 East, Providence. There will be a viewing for family and friends on Wednesday, February 11,2009, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Allen-Hall Mortuary 34 East Center, Logan, and at the church Thursday from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Providence City Cemetery.
