Rulon Alfred Johnson, 83, passed away on September 1, 2024.

He was born on January 11, 1941 to George Elmer Johnson and Lucile Clara Bateman in Logan Utah.

He grew up in Beaver Dam where he attended Bear River High School, graduating in May 1959.

He met and married his brunette, sweetheart Margaret Omega Hansen on September 30, 1960 and later sealed in the Logan Temple. They lived in Logan until 1976 when they moved to Mendon and most recently relocated to Nibley.

They were blessed with three children, Tony, Marc, and Joan.

Rulon worked many jobs during his career but was best known as the Logan City Building Inspector for 20 years, retiring at age of 53.

Rulon and Margaret had the opportunity to serve in the Logan Temple, served in the singles student ward at Utah State, along with other callings in the church over the years.

They had a great desire to serve the Lord and served missions in Texas San Antonio Mission, Nauvoo Illinois, Louisville Kentucky and later they served in St. George at the Bishop’s StoreHouse. Rulon loved his Heavenly Father and enjoyed serving him and his children.

He had a great love of horses, camping, 4 wheeling and cars (fast cars). He was often found meeting and talking to people wherever he would go. If you were lucky to become one of these people, he would then consider you a lifelong friend.

They spent many winters in St. George where they made many dear friends.

He is survived by his wife Margaret Johnson, his two sons Tony R Johnson (Andrea) Hyrum, Marc H Johnson (Angie) Hyde Park, sister Diane Barker of Kaysville and Ellsworth Johnson (Etta) Bluffdale Utah, 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his daughter Joan Watkins, brother Russell Johnson and brother- in- law Robert Hansen.

A special thanks to the Nibley 12th ward, Blacksmith Fork Hyrum Branch and the loving care over the past several months by the Blacksmith Fork Assisted Living staff and Atlas Homecare and Hospice.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 12:00 pm at the Nibley 12th Ward chapel, 1584 West 3200 South, Nibley Utah. A viewing will be held prior to the services from 10:00 -11:30 am.
