Ruth Hill

Ruth Elvira Hill passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 22, 2015. Ruth was born in Oslo, Norway on March 28th, 1928 to Theodor Gydar Pedersen and Dora Florentze Simonsen Pedersen. At age 20, joined by one sister and a niece, Ruth boarded a boat bound for America. After arriving in New York City her adventure eventually took her to Cache Valley, where she spent the remainder of her life. Ruth was blessed with 7 children and a legacy that has grown to include 22 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. Ruth enjoyed many wonderful friendships throughout her life and will be remembered for her sharp wit and easy laugh. Her greatest love was her family and the times spent reflecting on her Norwegian heritage and life experiences. Ruth's family will cherish the memory of her gentle, loving nature and her soothing hands always ready with a gentle stroke or soft pat.

Being the private individual she was, Ruth has requested an intimate funeral service be held for her children and grandchildren. No public viewing will be held. Ruth will be laid to rest in the Hyde Park City Cemetery on Thursday, February 26th.
