LOGAN, UTAH: Ruth Evelyn Lamb Lenkersdorfer, age 86, died peacefully in her sleep on Monday, February 10, 2014 in her home with all ten of her children caring for her.
Ruth was born July 9, 1927 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada. She was the third of ten children born to James Albert Lamb and Isobel Fisher Lamb. She attended schools in Regina Sask., Canada. She married John Dudley Lenkersdorfer on October 24, 1952 in the Logan Temple.
She worked in a law office as a legal secretary in Canada prior to her marriage. She was a member of the LDS Church where she served in many church callings including Primary, Mutual, Sunday School, and Relief Society. Her favorite calling was that of Cultural Refinement Teacher in Relief Society.
Her interests included reading, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, crocheting, and traveling. She made baby afaghans for every great grandchild. She gave them the afaghan and a stuffed lamb to remind them of her maiden name. She loved to travel and visited Germany, Ireland, England, France, Holland, Italy, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Jamaica, and Hawaii. She returned home to Canada twice a year to visit her family there.
She is survived by her children Isobel Roskelley (Dan), John Lenkersdorfer (Denise), Nancy McDougal (Guy), Louise Stephens (Gary), Alan Lenkersdorfer (Vickie), Jay Lenkersdorfer (Cheryl), Susan McBride (Wayne), George Lenkersdorfer (Wendy), Paul Lenkersdorfer, and Jody Lenkersdorfer (LaDawn). She is also survived by her sisters June Fawns and Dorothy Smythe of Canada and Marjorie Mabey of Logan. She has 28 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2014 AT 11:00 AM at the 43rd Ward Chapel, 1255 North 600 East. Friends may visit at the Allen-Hall Mortuary Friday evening from 6-8 pm and at the church of Saturday from 9:30 - 10:30 am. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
