Ruth Anderson Haderlie

April 28, 1918 — December 1, 2008

Ruth Anderson Haderlie passed away on December 1, 2008. She was born to Peter Hutton and Sophia Morse Anderson on April 28, 1918 in Samaria, ID. She grew up in Star Valley, WY and Idaho Falls, ID. She was educated in the elementary schools in Idaho Falls, Etna, WY and Malad, ID and attended high school in Ucon, ID. She was on a home visit to Star Valley when she met and later married Byron F. Haderlie after he completed a mission to the Northwest States Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
They lived in West Jordan and Spanish Fork, UT where Byron was the Field Superintendent for the Utah Idaho Sugar Company. In 1952, they moved to Freedom, WY, in Star Valley and purchased Byron's father's farm. While living in Freedom, she taught dancing for several years and enjoyed it very much. She loved the children and watching them perform at the end of the year in recitals held at the old Freedom Hall. Nine years later Byron and Ruth moved to Idaho Falls and again worked for the Utah Idaho Sugar Company.
In 1967, Byron began working for Development and Resources Corporation as an International Agronomist. They worked and lived in India, The Ivory Coast, Brazil, and twice in Iran. After their international work, they moved to New Jersey and Byron worked in New York City. Four years later, they retired and made their home in Sacramento, CA., where they served a mission at the Regional Employment Center.
In November 1994, after the passing of her husband Byron, Ruth sold her home in Sacramento and moved to Logan.
Where ever she lived, she had a beautiful yard filled with flowers and a vegetable garden.
On July 30,2002, she moved to Pioneer Valley Lodge. She loved living there and especially loved all her friends at Pioneer.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Byron Frank and a son, Byron Roger, a son-in-law, Cordell Luthi, her parents, brothers, Leland Hawkins and Pete Anderson; sisters Vera Roberts, Mary Lott, Shirley Langston, and Marjorie I’ve.
She is survived by four children: Annette (Cordell) Luthi, Freedom, WY; Joan (Roger) Romrell, Surprise, AZ; Susan (Ernest) Collins, Gainsville, FL; Kirk (Marla) Haderlie, Surprise, AZ; one sister, Sara (Jack) Freeman, Logan, UT. She has 25 grandchildren and 58 great-grandchildren.
