Ruth Baxter Balls has passed away peacefully Saturday May 23rd 2009 in River Heights, Utah.

She was born March 20th 1924 to Joseph Merrill Baxter and Emma Malinda Liljenquist in Hyrum Utah. She married Lynn H. Balls August 11, 1948 in the Logan LDS Temple. She was a member of the River Heights 2nd Ward. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, the River Heights Civic Club, and the Cache County Republicans.

Raised in Hyrum, Ruth had a deep love for the community and many fond memories of her childhood. She graduated from South Cache High School and went on to attend the LDS Business School in Salt Lake City Utah. After her marriage to Lynn they settled in River Heights Utah where she has lived for 57 years.

Ruth was very proud of her family and enjoyed so much their visits. She loved attending special events and activities with her family.

She is survived by 2 sons and 2 daughters, Marilyn Hone (Steve) Farmington, Utah; Jeffery Lynn Balls (Carrie) Providence, Utah; Carol Ann Laub (Jim) Logan, Utah; Michael Baxter Balls, Layton Utah, 13 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn H. Balls, and a brother, Gordon Baxter,

A special thanks to all of her wonderful neighbors and friends who have watched over her for so many years, especially Richard and Toni Berntsen.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, May 27th 2009, at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street, Logan Utah. A viewing will be held prior to services beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in the Providence City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net .

In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in her name to the Hyrum City Library project.
Donations can be sent to the Hyrum City office or the Hyrum City Library.
