SADIE GODFREY LOTT

Sadie Godfrey Lott left this life in the early morning hours of Sunday December 12, 2010, of natural causes. We will surely miss our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Sadie was well liked everywhere she went. She had great work ethics and was an honorable woman in all areas of her life.
Sadie was born May 7, 1918 in Clarkston, Utah to Henry Morris and Cora Mae Page Godfrey, and was one of 9 children. She is survived by her living brother and sister, Iva Lue Sparks, (Ray Arthur) Highland, Utah and Sterling Godfrey (Peggy) Henderson, Nevada and sisters-in-law Joan Godfrey, Ogden Utah, LaRae Godfrey, Clarkston, Utah and Elizabeth Lott, Ogden, Utah, and brother-in-law Milton Stenquist, Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Sadie married James Vernile Lott on December 6, 1939 in the Logan LDS Temple. They were blessed with 5 children, Annette Jardine,, Bountiful, Utah, Linda Ravsten (Stephen), Richardson, Texas, Karen Thompson (Norman), Mesa, Arizona, Sharon Clark(Jay), Smithfield, Utah, and Stanley Lott (deceased), Jeri Lott, Malad, Idaho. They have been blessed with 27 grandchildren, 87 great grand children, and 12 great-great grandchildren.
Sadie attended grade school to the eighth grade; then graduated from North Cache High. She enjoyed living on a dairy farm and had many chores and responsibilities, one of riding the family pony, Buck, to take the cows to the pasture each day and back again at night. She learned to sew, cook, and clean, and to plant and tend a large garden in the summertime. In the wintertime her father would hook up the horse and buggy and take the children to school when the snow was too deep to walk.
Sadie is preceded in death by her dear husband, Vernile, who died in 1952, her son, Stanley, a grandson, Rod Clark, and a great grand daughter, Keli Oldroyd and by her parents and brothers and sisters.
Sadie has been a great influence to all her posterity, helping many of them in their quest for success in their lives, always making sure that each grandchild knew that they were loved by their grandmother.
Sadie was a wonderful person, as she took all her church and civic callings with the utmost responsibility. She has been an active member of the LDS Church serving as ward Relief Society Pres., Primary Pres., Stake Primary Presidency, and worked as a temple officiator for almost 6 years. She worked at the Cache County Assessor’s Office for 24 years retiring in 1985.
Our family would like to especially thank ACCESS Homecare and Hospice. Thank you Kathy, Steve, Mandy, Melanie, Gabby, Riley and all others for their gentle care of mother.
The funeral for Sadie will be held Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 12 noon at the Clarkston Ward chapel with visitation from 10:30 to 11:30 AM preceding the funeral. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6-8 PM at the Allen Mortuary of North Logan, 420 East 1800 North, Logan, Utah. Interment will be in the Clarkston Cemetery.
