Samuel Ashley Clark

Samuel Ashley Clark, 92, passed away of natural causes on January 5, 2016 at Williamsburg Assisted Living in Logan, Utah with his wife and family by his side. Sam was born in Dublin-Laurens County, Georgia on December 25, 1923 to Charles Arthur and Zena Amerson Clark. Sam was the youngest of eight children.

Sam served his country diligently in both the Army and Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He was a Technical Sargent and expert Rifleman.

Sam married Joyce Peavey on June 2, 1947 and they were later sealed in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. Joyce passed away on Sept, 20, 1998. Sam later married Myrtle Fonnesbeck on February 3, 2001.

Sam worked for the Pepsi Company and retired after a successful thirty year career. Sam loved being outside working in his flower gardens and will always be remembered for his beautiful yard. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed taking them on walks and singing to them in his home. Sam will be missed by all who knew him but will especially be missed by his grandchildren and great grandchildren who loved to visit Grandpa Clark.

Sam is survived by his wife Myrtle Clark and his children Linda (Craig) Chambers, Claudia Stephens, Bettie (Ed) Mullaney and Raymond (Sandy) Clark and his stepchildren Doug (Trissa) Fonnesbeck, Jerry(Vicky) Fonnesbeck, Joan(Charles) Preston and Robert Fuhriman, as well as sister in law June Campbell and brother in law’s Ken Campbell and Darrell Peavey. Sam is also survived by 74 grandchildren, 141 great grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Same is preceded in death by Joyce Clark, son’s Lamar, Junior and Tommy Clark, stepdaughter Tamara Fuhriman and five granddaughters.

A viewing will be held Sunday, Jan. 10 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Allen- Hall Mortuary located at 34 E. Center St. in Logan, Utah. Another viewing will be held on Monday, January 11th from 11:00 a.m. to noon at Allen-Hall Mortuary. A graveside ceremony will be held at the Providence Cemetery following the viewing.
