Savanna Kaye Petersen was born in Logan, Utah on April 29th 2006. She was the second of three children born to Matthew and Alyssa Petersen of Paradise Utah. She was a big-eyed bundle of sass as soon as she was born. From the time she was little, she wanted to marry her dad and her brother, Parker. Of course, Parker wouldn’t have it, he told her that would never happen. She was disappointed.
She loves animals, especially dogs and horses. This year she raised a pig for the fair. She loved her pig’s chubby cheeks and named him Jimmy Dean.
She loved her little sister Sophie. She would patiently play house with her for hours, happily playing whatever Sophie wanted. She loved an idolized her big brother, Parker. Whatever he did, she wanted to do. He taught her to ride her bike without training wheels and to tie her shoes. When Parker was five and Savanna was two, Parker was doing tricks on his bike. He stood on his seat and steered his bike and while we were telling him to get down, we looked over to see little Vanna standing on the seat of her tricycle.
Vanna was a country girl. She loved playing at the bottoms. She would gather cow pies ad serve the kids cow pie stew. She was a smart little girl, a fifth grader at Canyon elementary. She loved all of her friends at school. She was a friend to anyone who needed one. She couldn’t stand to see anyone left out. She was probably Carrie Underwood’s biggest fan.
She leaves behind her parents, Matt and Alyssa Petersen, brother Parker, sister Sophie, grandparents Kirk and Kaye Petersen of Paradise, Allison and Darv Richman of Hyrum, and Brent and Monica Nielsen of Lake Stevens, WA. She also leaves behind two sets of great-grandparents, and a great-grandmother.
She had an amazing bond with her aunts and uncles and cousins. Everyone felt like they were her favorite. She had a tight little group of friends who she loved dearly. She will forever leave us with a smile on our faces.
She recently wrote a paper for school saying that she wanted to be remembered for being polite, kind, sweet, happy and loving; and that is exactly how she will be remembered.
