Sharilyn Cooper Barrett

November 2, 1935 — July 27, 2023

Mendon

Sharilyn Cooper Barrett was born November 2, 1935, in Logan, Utah, to Alton Archibald Cooper and Tressa Gunnell Cooper. She passed July 27, 2023, at the age of 87, at Williamsburg Independent Living in Logan, Utah. She grew up in Wellsville, Utah, with her parents and was the oldest of 6 children. She was diagnosed with Polio at age 3, which did not stop her from having an idyllic childhood supported by family, neighbors, friends, and teachers. She attended Floradell Elementary and Wellsville Junior High and graduated from South Cache High School in Hyrum.  She furthered her studies at LDS Business College.

On May 2, 1964, she married Clarence William Barrett (Bill), and they were sealed in the Logan, Utah Temple on July 30th, 1965. Bill was the love of her life, exemplified in their sweet nicknames for each other, Tweet and Twiddle.  Sharilyn gave birth to five sons: Stacy, Tracy, Kelly, Tim, and Glade. Her family was her greatest joy, and she loved raising them in the beautiful community of Mendon, where they flourished.

Dedicated members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Sharilyn, and Bill, attended the temple weekly. She and Bill were strong pillars of the Cache Valley community, exemplifying charity, love, sacrifice, and endurance.

Many did not know, but Sharilyn had a love for travel. She took many trips with her siblings. Some highlights were Yosemite, Tahiti, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Belgium, France, the open house of the Nauvoo Temple, and visiting many midwestern states on the trip.

She is survived by her five sons, Stacy, Tracy (Rene), Kelly (Carolee), Tim (Jacina, Deceased), and Glade (Becky), 15 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren; 4 Siblings Nina Lee Darley, Lyle Cooper, Vicki (James) Olson, and Jeffrey (Leesa) Cooper and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Cooper, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sweetheart Bill, daughter-in-law Jacina, parents, brother Boyd Cooper, and a nephew Brandon Cooper.

Funeral services, under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary, will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 460 S 100 E Mendon, Utah 84325. A viewing will be held prior to services at the church from 9:30-10:30.
