Sharlene Smith Reese

Loving Mother & Grandmother

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Sharlene Smith Reese, passed away peacefully at her home in Benson, Utah on April 14, 2011. She lived a joyful 76 years.

Sharlene was born in Nibley Utah, on November 23, 1934 to Lyle and Ella Noble Smith where she grew up in a loving and nurturing home. She attended school at Millville Elementary and South Cache High School where she made many lifetime friends.

Sharlene married the love of her life Charles Foster Reese on February 26, 1954 in the Logan LDS Temple. They loved each other unconditionally and united their efforts to create a solid foundation for their family. She was a steady support and partner throughout many years, as Charles and Sharlene built a successful Dairy Farm operation in Benson, Utah.

She was a wonderful mother who was always there for her three children, and had a deep abiding love for her entire family, giving unselfishly to serve and bless the lives of each of them.

She was a fabulous cook and a wonderful homemaker. Nothing pleased her more than to have the entire family together for dinner, or just a loving visit.

She was a faithful and active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was devoted to her many church callings throughout her life.

Sharlene touched and influenced the lives of many through her kindness, service and loving generosity, and her own family through the power of example and unconditional love that she so freely expressed. Her life will forever inspire and encourage us.

“Some people bless our lives and embed loving memories in our hearts and we are never, ever the same. We love you Sharlene!”

Sharlene is survived by her two daughters and their husbands: Laurie (Brad) Packer, Susan (Randy) Oldham, and her son Brent Reese;
Grand-children: Amy (Gregg) Hess and great grand-children (Kaden, Jaida, Allie, Hadlie), Jared (Michelle) Oldham (expecting a great grand-son in July),
Jordan (Kate) Oldham and great grand-son (Cache), Tyler Oldham, Tayia Hancey, Sarah Gibbons and great grand-son (Axel) and Charlie Reese;
She is survived also by her brother and sister, Bert Smith and Joann Cammack.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Charles Foster Reese (September 20, 2007), her parents Lyle and Ella Noble Smith and two sisters, Erma and Blanche.
