Sharon Christiansen Hansen

December 6, 1936 — March 18, 2022

Sharon Christiansen Hansen, 85, passed away peacefully at her home in Holladay, Utah on March 18, 2022. She had given away so much love that her heart was not strong enough to continue, and while her mind had faded, her smile and warm embrace were delights everyone enjoyed.

Sharon was born and raised in Logan, Utah, the daughter of Edwin and LaRena (Benson) Christiansen. She graduated from Logan High School in 1955 where she excelled at the numerous activities she participated in and made many cherished lifelong friends. On April 12, 1957, she married the boy next door, Joseph M. Hansen in the Logan Temple. Together they raised six children while living in St. Louis, Missouri, Fort Riley, Kansas, San Jose, California and Providence, Utah as Joe pursued his dental training and practice. Although they later divorced, Sharon always loved her sweetheart and held a special place in her heart for Joe, who passed away in 1998.

Sharon worked in the Cache County Courthouse as a deputy county assessor until her retirement in 2004. Everyone loved to talk to her, see her smile and laugh at her spunky wit. She made paying your taxes positively pleasant! Even as her memories started to fade, she counted everyone she met as a friend and greeted them with warmth and good cheer.

Sharon was a caring, wise and patient mother, always teaching and guiding her children. There were highs and lows throughout her life but she was constant in her positivity. She developed a talent for oil painting and had an amazing green thumb. She was a gifted singer and loved music all her life. She was steadfast in her faith and testimony of Christ and displayed many attributes of the Savior, especially integrity, kindness and selflessness.

Sharon is survived by her brother Lane (Carol) Christiansen, children Suzanne (Mark) Steffensen, Kendall (Nancy) Hansen, Craig (Christine) Hansen, Jennifer Hansen, Daniel (Angela) Hansen, and Bonnie (Jaron) McMullin; 22 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at the Allen Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street in Logan on Saturday, March 26th at 1:30 pm with a viewing prior beginning at 12:00 pm. Sharon will be laid to rest in the Logan City Cemetery.
