Shawn K. Schiess

MILLVILLE - Shawn Kay Schiess, loving husband, father, son, and brother, peacefully returned to his loving Heavenly Father on Sunday August 26, 2012, after battling Pancreatitis.

Shawn was born November 15, 1962, in Logan, Utah; the son and first child of Kay and Jeanette Hoff Schiess. Shawn later married Shelly Kae Smith in 1988 and they were blessed with two amazing children; Shaunell Katherine and Sholsen Kay Schiess.

Many Lives were blessed by Shawn’s sweetness. Shawn was a very kind and compassionate soul who would “give the shirt off his back” to anyone in need.

Shawn graduated from Logan High School in 1981. After graduation, Shawn went to work for Central Auto Parts in Logan and later moved on to manage Hyrum Auto Parts. He loved working on cars, trucks, and “toys” and was a naturally gifted mechanic. Shawn spent the last 25 years employed with Autoliv in various roles that utilized his mechanical abilities, strong work ethic, and “gear head nature”. During his employment with Autoliv, Shawn gained many of his closest friends.

Shawn’s hobbies included a strong passion for NASCAR, Cooking, Hunting, and Baseball. He spent many hours at the ball diamond coaching and supporting his 2 children.

Shawn was preceded in death by his Grandparents Fritz and Daisy Schiess and Lavar and Opal Hoff. He is survived by his wife Shelly Smith Schiess and their two children Shaunell and Sholsen Schiess as well as his parents, Kay and Jeanette Schiess, and siblings Sandor (Heidi) Schiess, Jana (Kurt) Anderson, Jessie Schiess, and 11 nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 30th at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street in Logan. A viewing will be held from 6-8 PM on Wednesday evening and from 9:30-10:30 AM at the mortuary prior to services. Interment will be in the Providence City Cemetery.
