Joan Sherlaine Pritchett, age 89, passed away peacefully at Terrace Grove Assisted Living on February 15, 2024. She was born to Charles and Erma Carlsen on May 11, 1934, in Hyrum, Utah. She was the youngest of 10 children.
She had many good memories growing up in Hyrum and graduated from South Cache High School. She married Lee Forrest Pritchett on January 15, 1953, in the Logan, Utah Temple. She had 3 children: Kevin Pritchett (Annette), Kim Thompson (Bob), and Lisa Hamilton (Sam). She also had 13 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. She knew each of them on a personal basis because she was a part of each of their lives.
She had many talents. She was a great seamstress and made pajamas for all the grandkids until there were just too many. She was always knitting or quilting for someone in the family. She was a great cook and had the whole family over for Sunday dinner every week. Her family was always her priority. She spent a lot of time with Lee out on the sheep range and spent many summers in Bull Canyon with her family in a small trailer house.
After Lee passed away at a young age, she met a group of friends that were a great source of joy in her life. They would go walking daily as well as go to dinner and events weekly.
She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had many different callings in the Primary and Relief Society. She regularly attended the temple with her older sister.
She is proceeded in death by her husband Lee Pritchett and siblings.
We would like to thank Terrace Grove for the love and care they showed mom the past 6 months.
