Shirlene Mason Campbell passed away January 14, 2013
at Legacy House, where she had lived for 1 1/2 years.
She was born May 7, 1932, in St. Anthony, Idaho to
Charlotte White Mason and Willard Vaughn Mason. When
she was thirteen she moved with her parents to
Pocatello, Idaho where she lived until she graduated
from college with a major in English.
She taught English for two years in Blackfoot, Idaho and
for seven years in California. She loved to travel. Shirlene
lived in France and New York City for a number of years,

Shirlene went on to receive a master's degree at Idaho
State University, and then accepted a position at Utah
State University, where she also completed her studies
for a Ph.D. and became a tenured professor.
Shirlene always loved to read. Her library covered the
walls of her home and was filled with the books she
taught so well to others and that informed her own life.

B. Campbell of Providence, and they were happily
married until his passing in 2002.

missed. May she rest in peace.
