Shirlene Ricks Coleman, 84, of Providence, Utah
Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother passed away December 25, 2017 in Syracuse, Utah.
She was born August 21, 1933 to Harold W. and Alta Bankhead Ricks in Benson, Utah. She was the oldest of 3 children. She started school in Benson, Utah and graduated from North Cache High School. She married her eternal companion, G. Val Coleman in the Logan Temple, after Val’s death she married Kay N. Obray.
Shirlene was a hard worker. She worked alongside Val at Coleman Drugs. She loved her lawn mowed and house clean. She loved her family serving others. Mom loved working in the Temple.
Shirlene was preceded in death by her parents, sister and brother, Afton Jones and Lynn Ricks, and daughter-in-law, Debbie Coleman. She is survived by her son, G. Scott Coleman, and daughter, Julie (Dean) Johnson, 9 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
Mortuary services are under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary. A gathering and celebration will be held Friday, December 29, 2017 gathering from 10:00 to 11:30 with celebration of Mom’s life at noon at the Cobblestone 1st Ward Building, 420 W. 100 N. in Providence. Interment will take place in the Smithfield City Cemetery.
