She married Karl Marcus Snelson on June 7, 1975 in Las Vegas, Nevada and the marriage was solemnized in the Los Angeles Temple on April 8, 1978.

One of her most cherished callings was as a temple worker in the Logan temple, working with the new brides. She loved sharing the Great Plan of Happiness with others, especially-the four proselyting missions she served with her husband from 1982 to 2007: Spain, Barcelona; Micronesia, Guam (finished in Oregon, Portland because of medical problems); New York, Rochester; and Nebraska, Omaha.
She has four children from a previous marriage to Keith Charles Matthews: Leslie Renee Nuckles (Dennis); Keith Kevin Matthews (Vicki); Kimberly Iyone Matthews; and Brian Jeffrey Matthews (Linda).
