LOGAN, UTAH: Shirley Atkinson Naylor, 81, of Logan passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2010 in Logan.
She and her twin sister were born on Memorial Day, May 30, 1928 in St. John, Idaho the daughter of Frank and Lillian Atkinson. She was the oldest of five children. She was a member of the LDS Church and had served in many church positions. The calling she enjoyed most was being the coordinator in the Junior Sunday School, she loved telling the children stories and teaching them songs. Shirley worked many jobs in her lifetime and retired after more than 30 years as the Switch Board Operator at the Logan Regional Hospital.
She played piano and violin and was very talented at both. She liked to sew and made many crafts, clothes and quilts for all her children and grand kids. She loved sports and was one of the best woman’s softball pitchers in Cache Valley. She also was an avid fan of the Utah Jazz and enjoyed watching all of their games. She traveled across the United States with her twin sister and spouse. She also traveled to Germany and Hawaii.
Shirley loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed their visits and spending time with them.
Mom was a sweet and generous person and helped others when she could.
She is survived by her five of six children and their spouses, Aura Dee and Mike Larson; Jeannie and Richard Folkman; Leland and Betty Naylor; Cordell Naylor; Tara Cito; 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, DeVon, her parents and a brother Frank.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 12th at 12:00 pm in the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street with a viewing one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Arthritis and the Kidney Foundations
