Stephen Alexander Clarke passed away peacefully on February 9, 2016 in Logan and returned to the loving arms of his Heavenly Father. He left behind a hole in the hearts of his family that will never be filled, and memories of a son and brother that will never be forgotten.
Stephen was born on October 27, 1986 in Gainesville, Florida to Derrel W. Clarke and Eileen Hill Clarke. He was born during the 7th inning of the 7th game of the world series and has loved sports since. He has loved playing all sports including baseball, football, soccer, and golfing. He had a great depth of knowledge of sports and loved his fantasy football.
He moved to Logan when he was 5 years old and attended the Logan City schools. His favorite food groups were chocolate and peanut butter and amazingly he reached a height of 6’4” with those main stays. He graduated from West Ridge Academy and worked at selling security systems for several years. While working in sales, he traveled and lived across the country, from California to Florida. He enjoyed his interaction with people and each place he lived. However, he wanted something more permanent and to be close to family, so he pursued a career as an electrician. He graduated from Ogden-Weber Applied Tech College and had finished his second year of electrical apprenticeship. He really enjoyed this and excelled at it.
Stephen was always the optimist and had big dreams in life. He viewed life through rose colored glasses never realizing the downside. He was always quick to apologize and forgive, never holding a grudge against anyone. He had a soft and giving heart. He would drop anything to help someone in need. He would give his last cent to anyone who needed help, even if he was wanting. He loved children, especially his nephews and nieces, and always took the time to read to them or get down on the floor and play with them. They, with the unconditional love of children, loved him back.
Stephen loved cars and had an inherent mechanical ability. He was proud of his tools and could do minor repairs on cars and most things around the home. He also loved electronics and always wanted the newest gadget. He was his family’s go to person to everything from computer mishaps to remote control problems.
Stephen always expressed his gratitude for everything you gave or did for him. He never left the table without thanking his mother for the meal. It was those little things that softened hearts, and let us know how deeply he loved those around him.
Stephen is survived by his parents, siblings: Kaythryn (J.J.) Gabriel of Hyde Park, Michael (Lynsi) Clarke of Austin, Texas, and Karina Clarke of Salt Lake City; grandmother, Elanore Clarke and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his brother, Benjamin Clarke.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street in Logan. There will be a viewing preceding the funeral from 10:00 to 11:30 AM. Interment will be at the Logan Cemetery after the funeral service. Condolences may be sent to the family at
