Steven Russell Rich was born in Montpelier, Idaho on April 27, 1947 to Russell Bolton Rich and Jacqueline Benson Rich.
He was raised in Ashton, Idaho, areas of Cache Valley and Pocatello, Idaho.
He was the son of a master carpenter and learned the trade from the time he could walk. He took great pride and pleasure in doing quality work for people who appreciated his custom professionalism.
Steve married Julie Cook of Garden City on 6-7-67 in the Logan Utah Temple. They were blessed with 4 sons. David, Layne, Shayne (Valarie) and Blake (Marianne). His 13 grandchildren, plus their spouses and 3 great grandchildren brought him immense joy.
He was predeceased by his parents and granddaughter Jessica Rich.
Steve is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and siblings: Donna, Carol, Ron, Allen, Shawna, Laurie, Stacey and Mardell.
Steve deeply loved the gospel and was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He spent many years serving in scouting. He received the District Award of Merit.
He passed away on April 21, 2021 at the IMC in Murray, Utah from complications of an aortic dissection.
He was buried on April 24, 2021 in the Hyrum City Cemetery in Hyrum, Utah
