Logan, Utah - Heaven called home an Aggie Legend. Steven Glen Wiley, died peacefully in his home on Friday Dec. 21, 2018. He was 67. Steve will be remembered as larger than life personality that cared and loved so many people. He was a loyal and devoted Father, Grandpa, Brother, Friend and he was “Pops” to everyone, especially his grandchildren .

Steve was born on Logan Utah on Dec. 22, 1950. He was one of 4 children of Andrew “Jack” Wiley and Connie Sheen. He grew up with 2 Brothers, Ronald J. Wiley and Michael Wiley, as well as a Sister Pat Mauer. A life long resident of Cache Valley, he was Educated in the Logan City School district, graduating from Logan High in 1969. He excelled as a member of the Logan High ROTC program. It was at Logan high that he met his lifelong sweetheart, Rhonda Karen Marks. They married in 1970, and spent 36 years together until her death in 2007. He was drafted into the United States Army after High School and served his country during the Vietnam War. During his tours of Duty he was recognized for his service many times and earned the Bronze Star for valor.

Steve and Rhonda welcomed into their family 2 children, Jeremy Wiley of Smithfield, Utah and Michele (Brian) Lee of Fielding, Utah. Steve dedicated most of his life to to his family, sharing many fun and sometimes crazy adventures with them. He would do absolutely anything for his family

Steve like his wife Rhonda, loved their Grandchildren beyond measure. He had 4 Granddaughters, Kylie (Scott) Argyle, Kelsie Lee, Nicole Wiley and Kenzie Lee. As well as young Great Granddaughter, Scarlett Argyle. He loved following all these girls across the state to watch dance and color guard competitions, golf matches as well as other various sporting events. There were very few times that Pops wasn’t there supporting his girls as he called them. Steve took great pride in the efforts and accomplishments of all his family.

Steve spent 3O+ years working at Thiokol as a machinist, before opting to retire in 2010. In 1993 he was approached by Utah State university to assist them in Hauling their football equipment, one time experiment quickly Turing in a passion and a new career for him until his passing, serving as a Assistant Equipment Manager for the last 6 years. While at USU, Steve found great friendships and love for all coaches and athletes. The tremendous outpouring of support we as his family have received has been quite large and humbling. We will never be able to thank everyone enough for the kind words that have been shared to date.

Steve is survived by his children, Jeremy, Michele and Brian, his grandkids, Kylie, Scott, Kelsie, Kenzie, Nicole and little Scarlett. His Brother Ron and Sister Pat. He will be truly miss be all of us. Steve was preceded in death by his beloved Wife, Rhonda, his parents Andrew” Jack and Connie Wiley, his bother Mike Wiley and in-laws Royce and Inez Marks.

The family would like to thank the countless people at have reached out with love and support and kinds words, your compassion echos that of Steve. He would be honored to think so many people cared about him so much!! We also want to thank Utah State University for the love and support that they gave and showed Dad. The Football program, past and present athletes and coaches for helping “Pops” live a dream lifestyle being a part of their programs and lives. He truly loves each and every one of you!

Funeral Services will be held at Noon on Friday, December 28, 2018 at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street in Logan, Utah. A viewing will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the mortuary and prior to the services on Friday at the mortuary from 10:00 - 11:30 AM. Interment will take place in the Logan City Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that you love others as he did, and share the kindness he shared! A Memorial Fund is available in Steve’s name at America First Credit Union for those wishing to donate, or please make a donation in his honor to the Big Blue Scholarship Fund to show support for one of the things he felt strongly about.

We can't wait for one more of your giant bear hugs, when the Nightrunner pulls in for his final destination! We all love and miss you Pops!!
