Steven Dennis Wilson, 68, passed away suddenly November 10, 2009 of natural causes . He was born December 16, 1940 in Oakland California, to Everett James and Marjory Kennedy Wilson. His family moved to the island of Hawaii where Steve truly became a “Haole Boy”. Steve later left the beloved islands of Hawaii for an education which he obtained at Utah State University. It was there he learned of, and converted to, the LDS faith which remained a part of his life. It was also there that he met his wife Rhea Allred Wilson and were sealed later in the Logan LDS Temple After his time in Logan, Steve went on to receive his Master’s degree in Parks and Recreation from BYU.
After receiving his education, Steve moved his family to Oklahoma where he was employed as a collegiate swimming coach. This position which would also take the family to Georgetown and then again back to Oklahoma state, and eventually to Logan.
Steve was an avid reader and sports fan but was a teacher at heart. He loved teaching anything from Gospel Doctrine to CPR but first and foremost he loved teaching children to swim. Unassuming, but loving a good meal, Steve loved to be involved with his family -most of all watching his kids participate in athletic events. Steve’s biggest smile came from watching his boys play football.
Steve is survived by his children, Dan (Karen) of Palmdale, Dennis (Lisa) of West Jordan, Debbie of North Logan, Drew (Michelle) of Hyrum, Trina and Everett of North Logan, and 13 grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his mother and father. We can only imagine the joyous reunion with his hero, his father, and his beloved mother. Aloha dad. Mahalo
