Sybil Thompson Goodey passed away on January 29, 2010 at her home in Clarkston, Utah. She was born on July 24, 1918 in Clarkston, Utah to Herman and Annie J., Thompson. She was raised in Clarkston and the White's Valley farm with her brothers and sisters.
She married Dallas Thomas Goodey in the Logan Temple on Sept. 20, 1939. Children born to this marriage were Karen (Larry) Kent, Grand Prairie, TX; MaryAnne (Robert) Gardner, Deweyville, UT; Rhonda (deceased); Myrna (Michael) DeGriselles, Tracy, CA; Merle (Alan) Cornish, Weatherford, TX; Jane (Kim) Sparks, Clarkston, UT; and Garth (Heidi) Goodey, Carlsbad, NM.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Rhonda; husband, Dallas; sisters, Merle and Nina; and brothers, Herman and Vance. She is survived by her five daughters, one son, 29 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, one sister, Thelma, one brother & sister-in-law, Oris and Helen Goodey; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
She has held many callings and has been a faithful and active in the LDS Church all of her life. She was a member of the Martin Harris Camp of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and has served as North Cache Co. President of the DUP. She was very active in 4-H and received her 20-year service pin. She loved to travel and has been to 45 of the 50 states with her beloved Dallas on his many bus trips. She is very devoted to family histories and collecting photographs and is renowned for her extensive genealogy collections.
Funeral services will be held Sat., Feb. 6th, 2010 at 12:00 pm (noon) at the Clarkston 1st Ward Chapel. A viewing will be held Fri., Feb. 5th, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 420 East 1800 North, North Logan, Utah and on Feb. 6th, 2010 at the Clarkston Church from 10:00 to 11 :30 am. Burial will be at the Clarkston Cemetery.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to all the many friends and family who have called, visited, checked and helped her these past two years.
