Sydnee Jill Raymond Gihring

November 28, 1949 — September 1, 2016

Sydnee Jill Raymond Gihring, our beautiful mother, wife, grandmother and friend returned to her Father in Heaven on September 1, 2016, at Legacy House in Logan, Utah.
Jill was born November 28, 1949 in Logan, Utah to Ace Scott and Arvilla Watts Raymond. She was raised in a loving home filled with music and activity. She has remained close to her brothers, sisters and cousins throughout her life.
Jill graduated from Logan High School and attended Utah State University. During part of this time she attended school in London, England. Along with a brother and two sisters, she enjoyed her time there while her parents served a church building mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. While living there, she and the family traveled extensively throughout Europe. This time in her life was always reflected upon as a wonderful experience.
Jill later caught the eye of her next-door neighbor, Ronald Theodore Gihring, and they were married on May 4, 1979 in Providence, Utah. They made their home in Logan and were blessed with a daughter and son.
Jill created a happy and beautiful home for her husband and children. She enjoyed sewing and graphic design and created many gifts for her grandchildren, siblings, neighbors and friends that they will always cherish. She planned and hosted events and liked making people happy. Recently she embroidered several costumes for the Four Seasons Theater of Cache Valley.
Jill enjoyed serving her neighborhood, community and LDS ward Relief Society. She was a member of the Logan Golf and Country Club for numerous years. She volunteered on committees for the Utah Golf Association. She spent two years as PTA president when her children were in school. She loved her church family, neighbors and friends. She worked for many years for Steven Hayward DDS, ZCMI and Dillards.
Jill mostly enjoyed travel. With her siblings, she had numerous family vacations all over the world. Jill recently returned from a cruise to the Baltic Sea having traveled with her husband, brothers and sisters. She enjoyed exploring new places, but her favorite place to be was with her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.
She is survived by her husband Ron Gihring; her daughter Erica (Eric) Jensen of Boise, Idaho; her son Brandon (Pamela) of Charlotte, North Carolina; her two grandchildren, Lucy and Ace; siblings Ace Spencer (Melanie) Raymond; Sue (Don) Steinagel; J. Scott (Debbie) Raymond, MD; Pat (Mark) Jensen; Mary (Corey) Savage; and numerous nieces and nephews that adored her. She is preceded in death by her father and mother Ace and Arvilla Raymond.
Her family wishes to express their gratitude to her brothers and sisters, the North Logan 11th Ward and Relief Society, staff at Legacy House, IHC Hospice, McKay Dee Hospital and friends and neighbors for all of their loving care and service on her behalf.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2016, at 11 am at the North Logan 11th Ward, 1550 East 1900 North, North Logan, Utah.
