Sydney Alene (Marler) Pearson
March 02, 1953 – September 29, 2023

Sydney was born in Pocatello, Idaho and was the fifth child of Lerah Alzina (Humphries) Wallace (Father: Roy N. Marler). Sydney grew up under the loving direction and guidance of her mother, Lerah, and lived mostly in Pocatello, Idaho with a short stay in Saint Anthony, Idaho. She was very active during this time and learned a lot.

She met her husband, Lewis, on a blind date on New Years Eve where they shared a hamburger, some dancing, and a swing. They were married in the Logan Temple on the 6th of July 1973 (the same day Lewis’s parents were married but 25 years earlier, this was a surprise to all but Lewis’s parents). They had 3 children, boys: Jacob, Jared & Jace.

Sydney experienced many changes and learned many new skills during their 50 years of marriage. Cooking, Sewing, quilting, Canning, camping, hiking, swimming, baseball, soccer, and so on. Thanks to her Kids, mother-in-law, grandmothers-in-laws and good friends.

Sydney served in many callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was loved and appreciated by so many.
Sydney loved to talk, walk, and swim. She found many friends who also enjoyed walking, talking, and swimming.
When the kids grew older, Sydney found joy in working for the Logan School district. Teaching herself many skills which were needed for the work assigned to her.

Sydney’s life changed dramatically when she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. She faced her challenge with courage, optimism, and faith. Because of a decline in mental skills, she retired early to experience and enjoy her friends and family, and even completed a life-long goal to learn to swim. She worked tirelessly serving those around her until her body no longer would support it. After 11 years of struggling with Alzheimer’s, she passed away peacefully at home and is now enjoying a sweet reunion with her family members that have passed on previously. Her mother being the primary one (incidentally, Sydney died on the same day her mother was born and we’re sure that it was a great birthday present for her mom). We know that she will also be happy to see her sister (Norene) and two brothers (David & Maynard Wallace) who previously passed on.

Sydney is survived by her Husband Lewis Pearson, three sons: Jacob (Angie) Pearson, Jared (Kimee) Pearson, Jace (Jessica) Pearson. She is also Survived by 12 grandchildren and a brother (Roger Garner).

There will be a viewing at the Logan 10th Ward church building (Address: 792 N. 500 E., Logan, Utah) on Friday, October 06 from 6:00-8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM on October 07 at the same Logan 10th Ward Church building with a viewing prior to the service from 9:00-10:45 AM.
