Tamara Kay Vegos, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025, at the age of 84. She was born on Valentine’s Day - February 14, 1940, in Logan, Utah, to her parents, Hugh Adams and Lorna Adamson.
Tamara was raised with a deep sense of family, growing up alongside her cherished brother and three sisters. Throughout her life, she maintained strong connections with her many nieces, nephews, and cousins, always offering kindness, wisdom, and laughter.
On September 13, 1963, Tamara married, Chuck Vegos, and together they built a life filled with love and devotion. Their bond was later eternally sealed in the Los Angeles Temple on January 25, 2013. After more than 50 years together, she mourned the passing of Chuck on November 15, 2014, but carried his love with her always. Now, they are joyfully reunited in heaven, together again forever.
Tamara was blessed with four children, six grandchildren, and multiple great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her family into her career as a dedicated nurse practitioner in OB-GYN for Kaiser, where she provided compassionate care to countless women for many years.
A proud resident of Juniper Hills, Tamara called it home for over five decades. She found great joy in the beauty of the desert, her animals, and the simple pleasures of life. She had a deep love for animals and would do anything to care for them, especially her beloved cutting horses, with which she competed and won numerous competitions. She also had an undeniable sweet tooth, always enjoying Costco soft-serve ice cream and chocolate chips, and never said no to her favorite bean and cheese burritos with extra green sauce.
Above all, Tamara loved her Heavenly Father and family. She lived her life with faith, kindness, and an unwavering love for those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength and is surely being greeted in heaven by her beloved Chuck and many cherished pets who have been waiting for her.
A service to celebrate Tamara’s life will be held on March 22, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Providence City Cemetery in River Heights, UT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Best Friends Animal Society, an organization that reflects her deep love and compassion for animals.
May she rest in peace, reunited with her past family, friends, and all the cherished animals she cared for throughout her life.
